There are two types of LED light fittings – Dedicated LED or Retro Fit LED
Dedicated LED light fittings are ones in which the LED chip is an integral part of the light fitting and it is the chip(s) that produce the light and you do not need to change a chip like you do with a light bulb, a Dedicated LED light fitting also has an integral Driver (similar to a Transformer) housed within the fitting. Led fittings are both efficient and durable with many lasting 10 years or more, if there is an issue it is usually with the Driver which can then be changed
Retro Fit LED light fittings are your usual light fittings that use normal incandescent or halogen light bulbs. These light fittings become LED when you put LED light bulbs in them.
